ALEXANDRIA, Apr. 7, 1995 (AMP) — South Africa 1996 (Qualifiers) : Egypt defeated Sudan by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday.

The result put the Egyptians top of Group 4 with 11 points. Sudan is bottom with 5 points. In their next game, Egypt will meet second-placed Tanzania on April 22, while Sudan will face Algeria.
