BLANTYRE, Feb. 22, 1997 (AMP) — Burkina Faso 1998 (Qualifiers) : Malawi defeated Mozambique by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 1998 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday.
The result put the Malawians second in Group 7 with 6 points. Mozambique is third with 3 points. In their next game, Malawi will meet Mauritius on June 21, while Mozambique will face Zambia.
