LILONGWE, Jun. 21, 1997 (AMP) — Burkina Faso 1998 (Qualifiers) : Malawi defeated Mauritius by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 1998 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday.
The result put the Malawians top of Group 7 with 9 points. Mauritius is bottom with one point. In their next game, Malawi will meet second-placed Zambia on July 12, while Mauritius will face Mozambique.
