ANTANANARIVO, Feb. 28, 1999 (AMP) — Ghana Nigeria 2000 (Qualifiers) : Madagascar defeated DR Congo by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2000 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.
The result put the Malagasy second in Group 6 with 4 points. DR Congo is third with 4 points. In their next game, Madagascar will meet third-placed DR Congo on April 11, while DR Congo will face Madagascar.
