POINTE NOIRE, Sep. 3, 2000 (AMP) — Mali 2002 (Qualifiers) : South Africa defeated Congo-Brazzaville by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.

The result put the South Africans second in Group 2 with 3 points. In their next game, South Africa will meet group leaders Liberia on December 16, while Congo-Brazzaville will face Mauritius.
