NOUAKCHOTT, Sep. 6, 2002 (AMP) — Tunisia 2004 (Qualifiers) : Cape Verde defeated Mauritania by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday.
The result put the Cape Verdeans top of Group 5 with 3 points. In their next game, Cape Verde will meet third-placed Kenya on October 12, while Mauritania will face Togo.
