JOHANNESBURG, Jul. 3, 2004 (AMP) — Egypt 2006 (Qualifiers) : South Africa defeated Burkina Faso by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday afternoon.

The result put the South Africans top of Group 2 with 6 points. Burkina Faso is bottom with 3 points. In their next game, South Africa will meet third-placed DR Congo on September 5, while Burkina Faso will face Uganda.
