KINSHASA, Sep. 5, 2004 (AMP) — Egypt 2006 (Qualifiers) : DR Congo defeated South Africa by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon.

The result put the congolese second in Group 2 with 7 points. South Africa is fourth with 6 points. In their next game, DR Congo will meet group leaders Ghana on October 10, while South Africa will face Uganda.
