PRAIA, Jun. 4, 2005 (AMP) — Egypt 2006 (Qualifiers) : South Africa defeated Cape Verde by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the South Africans top of Group 2 with 15 points. Cape Verde is second with 10 points. In their next game, South Africa will meet third-placed Ghana on June 18, while Cape Verde will face Uganda.
