ABIDJAN, Jun. 19, 2005 (AMP) — Egypt 2006 (Qualifiers) : Ivory Coast defeated Egypt by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon.
The result put the Ivorians top of Group 3 with 19 points. Egypt is third with 13 points. In their next game, Ivory Coast will meet second-placed Cameroon on September 4, while Egypt will face Benin.
