ORAN, Sep. 4, 2005 (AMP) — Egypt 2006 (Qualifiers) : Nigeria defeated Algeria by a score of 5-2 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday night.

The result put the Nigerians top of Group 4 with 18 points. Algeria is 5th with 7 points. In their last game, Nigeria will meet third-placed Zimbabwe on October 8, while Algeria will face Gabon.
