BUJUMBURA, Oct. 8, 2006 (AMP) — Ghana 2008 (Qualifiers) : Burundi defeated Mauritania by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 3-1), in a qualifying game for the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.
The result put the Mauritanians second in Group 2 with 3 points. Burundi is third with 3 points. In their next game, Mauritania will meet group leaders Egypt on March 25, while Burundi will face Botswana.
