PRAIA, Oct. 7, 2006 (AMP) — Ghana 2008 (Qualifiers) : Cape Verde defeated Guinea by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday.
The result put the Cape Verdeans third in Group 8 with 3 points. Guinea is bottom with one point. In their next game, Cape Verde will meet group leaders Algeria on March 24, while Guinea will face Gambia.
