Equatorial Guinea beats Tunisia in extra time to advance to AFCON semifinals
BATA, Jan. 31, 2015 (AMP) — Equatorial Guinea 2015 : Equatorial Guinea reached the semifinals of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations courtesy of a 2-1 extra time victory over Tunisia (following a 1-1 draw in regulation) on Saturday night at the Estadio de Bata.
Javier Balboa scored dual goals
The score was still 1-0 for Tunisia at the end of overtime, when an unexpected goal from Balboa in the 93rd minute allowed Equatorial Guinea to equalize and just squeeze through to overtime. In the 102nd minute, it was ultimately the Equatorial Guinean striker Javier Balboa who brought Equatorial Guinea to victory by scoring the winning goal.
