Ivory Coast beats Algeria to advance to AFCON semifinals
MALABO, Feb. 1, 2015 (AMP) — Equatorial Guinea 2015 : Ivory Coast reached the semifinals of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with a 3-1 win against Algeria (halftime: 1-0) on Sunday night at the Nuevo Estadio de Malabo.
Wilfried Bony scored dual goals
Ivory Coast dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Wilfried Bony in the 26th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Ivorians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Bony '68 and Gervinho '90).
