Cameroon beats Egypt 2-1 to win 2017 AFCON
COTONOU, Feb. 5, 2017 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 : Cameroon claimed a fifth Africa Cup of Nations crown with a 2-1 win against Egypt (halftime: 0-1) in the final on Sunday night at the Stade de l'Amitié in Cotonou.
Egypt had started off well by taking the lead in the 22nd minute with a goal by Elneny. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Cameroonians nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Nkoulou '59 and Aboubakar '88).
