AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Liberia and Togo play to a 2-2 draw
MONROVIA, Jun. 5, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Liberia tied 2-2 with Togo (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.
The Liberians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Dorbor in the 5th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, and despite Jebor goal ('54) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Togo with goals by Floyd Ayité ('67) and Laba ('83).
The result put the Liberians second in Group A with 10 points. Togo is third with 8 points. In their last game, Liberia will meet group leaders Tunisia at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium on September 4, while Togo will face Djibouti.
