AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : DR Congo beats Angola 2-1
KINSHASA, Mar. 26, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : DR Congo defeated Angola by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday afternoon at the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecôte in Kinshasa.
DR Congo dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Bakambu in the 23rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Congoleses further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Meschak in the 78th minute.
The result put the congolese top of Group B with 6 points. Angola is second with 4 points. In their next game, DR Congo will meet second-placed Angola at the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecôte on March 29, while Angola will face DR Congo.
