AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Central African Republic beats Madagascar 2-1
BANGUI, Mar. 28, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : The Central African Republic defeated Madagascar by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Monday afternoon at the Barthelemy Boganda Stadium in Bangui.
Madagascar had started off well by taking the lead in the 35th minute with a goal by forward Andriatsima. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Central Africans nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Kéïta '52 and Limane '65).
The result put the Central Africans top of Group B with 7 points. Madagascar is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, the Central African Republic will meet third-placed Angola at the Barthelemy Boganda Stadium on June 5, while Madagascar will face DR Congo.
