AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Central African Republic beats Angola 3-1
BANGUI, Jun. 5, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : The Central African Republic defeated Angola by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Barthelemy Boganda Stadium in Bangui.
The Central African Republic dominated the first half thanks to goals from Mabidé ('15) and Eloge Enza Yamissi ('38). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Central Africans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Limane in the 77th minute.
The result put the Central Africans second in Group B with 10 points. Angola is third with 4 points. In their last game, the Central African Republic will meet group leaders DR Congo at the Barthelemy Boganda Stadium on September 4, while Angola will face Madagascar.
