AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : DR Congo beats Madagascar 6-1
MAHAJANGA, Jun. 5, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : DR Congo defeated Madagascar by a big score of 6-1 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Rabemananjara Stadium in Mahajanga.
Bakambu and M'Poku scored dual goals
DR Congo dominated the first half thanks to goals from Bakambu ('2), M'Poku ('21) and Bolasie ('41). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Congoleses further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (M'Poku '65, Bakambu '81 and Botaka '90).
The result put the congolese top of Group B with 12 points. Madagascar is bottom with 2 points. In their last game, DR Congo will meet second-placed the Central African Republic at the Rabemananjara Stadium on September 4, while Madagascar will face Angola.
