AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : DR Congo beats Central African Republic 4-1 to qualify for 2017 AFCON

KINSHASA, Sep. 4, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : DR Congo defeated the Central African Republic by a score of 4-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a AFCON qualifying game on Sunday night at the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecôte in Kinshasa.

DR Congo dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Kebano in the 36th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Congoleses further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Mubele '56, Bolingi '76 and Botaka '89).

DR Congo secured their ticket to the AFCON finals. Central African Republic is eliminated.
