AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : South Sudan beats Equatorial Guinea 1-0
JUBA, Sep. 5, 2015 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : South Sudan defeated Equatorial Guinea by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday afternoon at the Juba Stadium.
Equatorial Guinea made the South Sudaneses doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Lual in the 51st minute.
The result put the South Sudanese second in Group C with 3 points. Equatorial Guinea is bottom with one point. In their next game, South Sudan will meet third-placed Benin at the Juba Stadium on March 23, while Equatorial Guinea will face Mali.
