AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Mali beats Equatorial Guinea 1-0
BAMAKO, Mar. 25, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Mali defeated Equatorial Guinea by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday night at the Stade du 26-Mars in Bamako.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Malian defender Molla Wagué with just 9 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Malians top of Group C with 7 points. Equatorial Guinea is bottom with one point. In their next game, Mali will meet Equatorial Guinea at the Stade du 26-Mars on March 28, while Equatorial Guinea will face Mali.
