AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Mali beats Benin 5-2 to qualify for 2017 AFCON
BAMAKO, Sep. 4, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Mali defeated Benin by a score of 5-2 (halftime: 3-1), in a AFCON qualifying game on Sunday afternoon at the Stade du 26-Mars in Bamako.
Mali dominated the first half thanks to goals from Yatabaré ('20), Diaby ('36) and Marega ('39). Leading 3-1 at the break, the Malians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Traoré '65 and Doumbia '80).
Mali secured their ticket to the AFCON finals. Benin is eliminated.Fixtures and Results : Group C
