KAMPALA, Jun. 13, 2015 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Uganda defeated Botswana by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday afternoon at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala.
45 minutes of play and neither the Ugandans nor the Batswanas have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Massa ('55) and Umony ('65).
The result put the Ugandans top of Group D with 3 points. In their next game, Uganda will meet Comoros at the Mandela National Stadium on September 5, while Botswana will face Burkina Faso.
