AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Burkina Faso beats Comoros 1-0

MORONI, Jun. 5, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Burkina Faso defeated Comoros by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Stade de Beaumer in Moroni.

Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Burkinabé midfielder Alain Traoré with just 10 minutes remaining in regulation time.

The result put the Burkinabé second in Group D with 10 points. Comoros is bottom with 3 points. In their last game, Burkina Faso will meet third-placed Botswana at the Stade de Beaumer on September 4, while Comoros will face Uganda.
