AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Morocco defeats Cape Verde 2-0
MARRAKESH, Mar. 29, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Morocco defeated Cape Verde by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday night at the Marrakesh Stadium.
El-Arabi scored dual goals
45 minutes of play and neither the Moroccans nor the Cape Verdeans have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with two goals by Moroccan forward El-Arabi at '55 (on penalty) and '60.
The result put the Moroccans top of Group F with 12 points. Cape Verde is second with 6 points. In their next game, Morocco will meet third-placed Libya at the Marrakesh Stadium on June 3, while Cape Verde will face São Tomé and Príncipe.
