AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Libya and Morocco play to a 1-1 draw
RADES, Jun. 3, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Libya tied 1-1 with Morocco (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday night at the Rades Olympic Stadium.
The Moroccans started off well by taking the lead thanks to Moroccan defender Nabil Dirar in the 36th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Libya with a saving goal from Al Ouarfali in the 90th minute.
The result put the Moroccans top of Group F with 13 points. Libya is third with 4 points. In their last game, Morocco will meet São Tomé and Príncipe at the Rades Olympic Stadium on September 4, while Libya will face Cape Verde.
