AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Egypt beats Tanzania 2-0
DAR ES SALAAM, Jun. 4, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Egypt defeated Tanzania by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday afternoon at the Tanzania National Main Stadium in Dar Es Salaam.
Mohamed Salah scored dual goals
Egypt dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Mohamed Salah in the 44th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Egyptians further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Salah in the 58th minute.
The result put the Egyptians top of Group G with 13 points. Tanzania is third with one point. In their last game, Egypt will meet Chad at the Tanzania National Main Stadium on September 2, while Tanzania will face Nigeria.
