CUREPIPE, Sep. 6, 2015 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Mauritius defeated Mozambique by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the George V Stadium in Curepipe.
Mozambique made the Mauritians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Pithia in the 47th minute.
The result put the Mauritians third in Group H with 3 points. Mozambique is bottom with no points. In their next game, Mauritius will meet second-placed Rwanda at the George V Stadium on March 26, while Mozambique will face Ghana.
