AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Rwanda beats Mauritius 5-0
KIGALI, Mar. 29, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Rwanda defeated Mauritius by a big score of 5-0 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday afternoon at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.
Sugira scored dual goals
Rwanda dominated the first half thanks to goals from Nshuti ('11) and Sugira ('30, '32). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Rwandans further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Omborenga '73 and Mugiraneza '90).
The result put the Rwandans second in Group H with 6 points. Mauritius is third with 6 points. In their next game, Rwanda will meet Mozambique at the Amahoro Stadium on June 4, while Mauritius will face Ghana.
