AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Ethiopia defeats Lesotho 2-1
BAHIR DAR, Jun. 14, 2015 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Ethiopia defeated Lesotho by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Bahir Dar Stadium.
Lesotho had started off well by taking the lead in the 41st minute with a goal by Mothoana. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Ethiopians nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Panom '65 and Said '77).
The result put the Ethiopians second in Group J with 3 points. In their next game, Ethiopia will meet the Seychelles at the Bahir Dar Stadium on September 5, while Lesotho will face Algeria.
