AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Algeria beats Seychelles 2-0

VICTORIA, Jun. 2, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Algeria defeated the Seychelles by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Thursday night at the Stade Linité in Victoria.

Algeria dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by French forward Yassine Benzia in the 40th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Algerians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Soudani in the 62nd minute.

The result put the Algerians top of Group J with 13 points. The Seychelles is third with 4 points. In their last game, Algeria will meet Lesotho at the Stade Linité on September 4, while the Seychelles will face Ethiopia.
