AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Ethiopia beats Lesotho 2-1
MASERU, Jun. 5, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Ethiopia defeated Lesotho by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Setsoto Stadium in Maseru.
Kebede scored dual goals
Ethiopia dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Kebede in the 45th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Ethiopians further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Kebede in the 53rd minute.
The result put the Ethiopians second in Group J with 8 points. Lesotho is bottom with 3 points. In their last game, Ethiopia will meet third-placed the Seychelles at the Setsoto Stadium on September 3, while Lesotho will face Algeria.
