AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Senegal beats Burundi 3-1
DAKAR, Jun. 13, 2015 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Senegal defeated Burundi by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday night at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium in Dakar.
Senegal dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Konaté in the 14th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Senegaleses further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Mame Biram Diouf '62 and Mané '90).
The result put the Senegalese top of Group K with 3 points. In their next game, Senegal will meet Namibia at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium on September 5, while Burundi will face Niger.
