AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Senegal beats Namibia 2-0
WINDHOEK, Sep. 5, 2015 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Senegal defeated Namibia by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday afternoon at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek.
Senegal dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Cheikhou Kouyaté in the 35th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Senegaleses further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Mané in the 56th minute.
The result put the Senegalese top of Group K with 6 points. Namibia is bottom with no points. In their next game, Senegal will meet second-placed Niger at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on March 26, while Namibia will face Burundi.
