AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Senegal beats Niger 2-0
DAKAR, Mar. 26, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Senegal defeated Niger by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday night at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium in Dakar.
Senegal dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Mohamed Diamé in the 16th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Senegaleses further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Niasse in the 68th minute.
The result put the Senegalese top of Group K with 9 points. Niger is bottom with 3 points. In their next game, Senegal will meet Niger at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium on March 29, while Niger will face Senegal.
