AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Senegal defeats Niger 2-1
NIAMEY, Mar. 29, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Senegal defeated Niger by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday afternoon at the General Seyni Kountché Stadium in Niamey.
Senegal dominated the first half thanks to goals from Konaté ('22 on penalty) and N'Diaye Souaré ('43). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Senegaleses further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by in the th minute.
The result put the Senegalese top of Group K with 12 points. Niger is bottom with 3 points. In their next game, Senegal will meet third-placed Burundi at the General Seyni Kountché Stadium on June 4, while Niger will face Namibia.
