AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Swaziland and Malawi play to a 2-2 draw
LOBAMBA, Sep. 6, 2015 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Swaziland tied 2-2 with Malawi (halftime: 1-2), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Somhlolo National Stadium in Lobamba.
The Malawians started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Phiri ('8) and Msowoya ('21) while the Swazis only scored once Badenhorst ('17). However, even though they were leading 2-1 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Swaziland with a saving goal from Ndzinisa in the 62nd minute.
The result put the Swazi top of Group L with 4 points. Malawi is third with one point. In their next game, Swaziland will meet second-placed Zimbabwe at the Somhlolo National Stadium on March 25, while Malawi will face Guinea.
