AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Guinea defeats Malawi 2-1

BLANTYRE, Mar. 29, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Guinea defeated Malawi by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday afternoon at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

Msowoya opened the score in the 30th minute, before seeing Guinea catch up in the 45th minute thanks to Yattara. 1-1 at half time. The Guineans eventually won the game in the second period with with a goal by Sylla in the 60th minute.

The result put the Guineans second in Group L with 5 points. Malawi is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, Guinea will meet third-placed Swaziland at the Kamuzu Stadium on June 5, while Malawi will face Zimbabwe.
