AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Cameroon beats Gambia 1-0

BAKAU, Sep. 6, 2015 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Cameroon defeated Gambia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Cameroonian forward Vincent Aboubakar in the 65th minute.

The result put the Cameroonians top of Group M with 6 points. Gambia is third with one point. In their next game, Cameroon will meet South Africa at the Independence Stadium on March 26, while Gambia will face Mauritania.
