AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Senegal defeats Equatorial Guinea 3-0
DAKAR, Jun. 10, 2017 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Senegal defeated Equatorial Guinea by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday night at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium in Dakar.
Sow scored dual goals
Senegal dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Sow in the 1st minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Senegaleses further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Sow '72 and Gueye '90).
The result put the Senegalese top of Group A with 3 points. In their next game, Senegal will meet second-placed Madagascar at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium on September 9, while Equatorial Guinea will face Sudan.
