AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Cameroon defeats Malawi 1-0

YAOUNDé, Oct. 12, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Cameroon defeated Malawi by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday afternoon at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé.

45 minutes of play and neither the Cameroonians nor the Malawians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Cameroonian forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in the 63rd minute.

The result put the Cameroonians top of Group B with 7 points. Malawi is third with 3 points. In their next game, Cameroon will meet third-placed Malawi at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium on October 16, while Malawi will face Cameroon.
