AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Comoros and Morocco play to a 2-2 draw
MITSAMIOULI, Oct. 16, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Comoros tied 2-2 with Morocco (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday afternoon at the Said Mohamed Cheikh Stadium in Mitsamiouli.
The Comorans started off well by taking the lead thanks to Ben Nabouhane in the 8th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, and despite Ben Nabouhane goal ('89) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Morocco with goals by Khalid Boutaïb ('53) and Nordin Amrabat ('61).
The result put the Moroccans second in Group B with 7 points. Comoros is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, Morocco will meet group leaders Cameroon at the Said Mohamed Cheikh Stadium on November 16, while Comoros will face Malawi.
