AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Comoros beats Malawi 2-1
MORONI, Nov. 17, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Comoros defeated Malawi by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday afternoon at the Moroni Stadium.
Comoros dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Ben Nabouhane in the 2nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Comorans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Chamed in the 67th minute.
The result put the Comorans third in Group B with 5 points. Malawi is bottom with 4 points. In their last game, Comoros will meet second-placed Cameroon at the Moroni Stadium on March 23, while Malawi will face Morocco.
