AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Gabon beats South Sudan 3-0
GABON, Oct. 12, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Gabon defeated South Sudan by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday afternoon at the Stade d'Angondjé in Gabon.
Gabon dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by French midfielder Denis Bouanga in the 27th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Gaboneses further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Appindangoyé '58 and James '87/own).
The result put the Gabonese third in Group C with 4 points. South Sudan is bottom with no points. In their next game, Gabon will meet South Sudan at the Stade d'Angondjé on October 16, while South Sudan will face Gabon.
