AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Burundi draw 1-1 with Mali
BUJUMBURA, Oct. 16, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Burundi tied 1-1 with Mali (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday afternoon at the Prince Louis Rwagasore Stadium in Bujumbura.
The Burundians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Abdul Razak in the 9th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Mali with a saving goal from Fofana in the 48th minute.
The result put the Malians top of Group C with 8 points. Burundi is second with 6 points. In their next game, Mali will meet third-placed Gabon at the Prince Louis Rwagasore Stadium on November 17, while Burundi will face South Sudan.
