AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Burundi beats South Sudan 5-2
JUBA, Nov. 16, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Burundi defeated South Sudan by a score of 5-2 (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday afternoon at the Juba Stadium.
Abdul Razak served up another goal feast
South Sudan opened the score in the score in the 11th minute thanks to Lual, before Burundi regained the advantage with Abdul Razak ('12) and Amissi ('39). Leading 2-1 at the break, the Burundians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Abdul Razak '73, '89, '90).
The result put the Burundians top of Group C with 9 points. South Sudan is bottom with no points. In their last game, Burundi will meet third-placed Gabon at the Juba Stadium on March 23, while South Sudan will face Mali.
