AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Benin beats Gambia 1-0
COTONOU, Jun. 11, 2017 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Benin defeated Gambia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Stade de l'Amitié in Cotonou.
Gambia made the Benineses doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Beninese midfielder Stéphane Sessegnon in the 53rd minute.
The result put the Beninese top of Group D with 3 points. In their next game, Benin will meet Togo at the Stade de l'Amitié on September 9, while Gambia will face Algeria.
